DJ Jurgen

DJ Jurgen (born Jurgen Rijkers, 13 February 1967, in Delft) is a DJ, remixer, producer, and artist from the Netherlands. Jurgen grew up in Delft, where he started to experiment with music and became a radio jock on radio stad den Hague. In 1985 he became a regular dj at a Dutch public radio station, which gave him his credits in the radio industry.
By the end of the 80s he became by accident in contact with house music, and got drawn to the music. From there on he became a regular dj known in the Amsterdam scene and all around. Amongst places like the HOUR POWER (escape) and ASTA (den Hague).
Around 1994/95 he started to get into producing, and his first release SHAKRA’S FEELINGS was a regular on many compilation cds.
In 1994 Jurgen was resident for 3 years in the world famous club Space Ibiza where he played on Space on sunday.
Then in 1998 he made the big score with his number 1 record BETTER OFF ALONE. This made him a well known dj all over the world. Television performances and traveling throughout countries like JAPAN, HAWAII, DUBAI, SOUTH AFRICA, USA, etc.
Over the years Jurgen played on festivals like Mysteryland,Dance valley ,Innercity,Pleasure island ect.In July 2005 Jurgen released ‘wicked waves’ on the new yakuza label.
In March 2007 his single ‘boyzz’ was released on spinnin records.In 2008 jurgen Signed a contract with recordlabel Dance villa, the first relaese Higher Love became a top 20 hit in the chards.October 2009 a new release from Dj Jurgen crazy sexy cool.
The 19 of august 2011 the new release ``Overtime``.
Jurgen is also hosting The morning show Wake Up Fresh on Radio Fresh Fm and his dance radioshow ID on Saturday night.
