Eluvium

Matthew Cooper(Eluvium)是一位Experimental Ambient音乐家，其音乐带着Minimal(简约主义)的意念及手法。Minimal音乐强调以重复的段落，利用音乐中的微细变动，呈现出音乐的层次感，令听者置身于意识流之中；这种表达方式近似于Post-Rock，而Eluvium的音乐就经常被拿来跟冰岛后摇滚乐队Sigur Ros比较，但显而易见的是，Minimal派系的电子音乐不如Post-Rock般，不会出现乐器暴发的摇滚张力，亦因而显得更游离虚幻。
 
Eluvium is the moniker of ambient recording artist Matthew Cooper. Cooper is known for blending various genres of experimental music including ambient, electronica and minimalism.
 
With a depth ranging from fragile to glacial, he takes dense layers of guitars and pianos and builds them into a fortress around himself. Resting comfortably and confidently in the spirits of Brian Eno’s most accomplished ambient pieces, Eluvium is a freakishly beautiful affair. Cooper’s latest album ‘Copia’ is considered to be his best work to date, and has been hailed most notably by the influential Drowned in Sound website.
