John Carroll is an artist from Limerick, Ireland who has been living in Hangzhou, China since 2007. He has been an active independent musician since 1997.

His first solo recordings were written and recorded over a period of 5 years (2002-2007) in Scotland, Ireland and USA. In August 2007, he self-released his debut album; a collection of demos, collaborative and experimental lo-fi work, called ‘KR729’ in his hometown of Limerick, Ireland.

Since 2007, he has toured extensively around Far-East Asia, particularly South Korea and China both as a solo musician and also with various bands and artists.

He collaborated on 3 EP's with indie rockers, 'The Phoenix Prestige' (local Hangzhou band: 2008-2011) as well as touring as a solo artist all over China’s east coast.

In 2010, he was invited to perform live radio interviews in Hangzhou, Shanghai and Hong Kong and also performed at the US pavilion of the World Expo in Shanghai.

He has opened for LiJianHong(李剑鸿), Concrete Blonde, These-New-Puritans, Crippled Black Phoenix and Dominic Aitchison (Mogwai). In 2011, he was invited to appear on stage at the Xihu Music Festival, Hangzhou and at the Dolphin Music Festival, Ningbo.

Carroll's new album 'Let Every Tongue' is a result of 5 years living in China; emigrating, adapting and adjusting to the culture, language and all the personal changes.

It was recorded in Hangzhou, China in Spring + Summer 2012. It is available to download and buy from iTunes and Bandcamp from November 1st 2012 with a single release from 1st December 2012.
