Indie-rock buzz band EX NORWEGIAN's refreshingly catchy sound has taken them to this year's annual CMJ Music Marathon in New York City -- mere months after their formation.
There is no need to read in between the riffs or lines to have fun with Ex Norwegian, and there's always that unexpected irony to their sound. The band's love of music shines through making even their sad songs sound upbeat.
Ex Norwegian got together in the summer of ’08 under random intervention in the sunny island of Miami Beach to spark the sounds of their refreshing music.
The band released their debut single "Something Unreal" after being besieged by radio stations requesting copies of the track. The homespun-style music video for the song became a popular favorite on YouTube, receiving thousands of views within the first few days of its release.
Excited and inspired, the group released "Dance Trance Pants" on 7" vinyl (available from Insound) and will tour in 2009 in support their debut album Standby to be released February-March 2009.
Roger sings, plays guitar and is main songwriter.
Nina plays bass and likes to surf.
Arturo is on the clear drums and just graduated from UM.
"Something Unreal" is available from iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, eMusic, Napster & Shockhound on July 21st. It is on college radio, specialty and internet shows.
