The composer's own orchestra has received all kinds of enthusiastic response from journalists and leading critics for their four Cd's. In 2006 The Ensemble has been invited to a number of concerts in the "Jazznights.de" series sponsored by the "Deutsch Borse".
 
They received a fantastic response, both in their country and abroad for their latest CD release "Boahjenásti". Newspapers like "Frankfurter Allgemeine", "Die Welt" and "Hamburger Abendblatt" have described it as "amazing", "unique" and that it "opens the door to Jazz-heaven" and describing Geir as " The trendsetter from Oslo".
 
The orchestra and composer's music is now regarded as a significant force worldwide in the big band scene. With it's genius touch, the band has secured itself an international position. Lysne has had the honor of being part of opening concerts for some of jazz' biggest festivals, together with artists like Chick Corea, David Sandborn, Lizz Wright and Bobby McFerrin. Because of the huge resonance for Geir Lysne's music, he has received contracts up to the year 2007 as a University lecturer, composer and he is to perform concerts in countries such as Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and of course his native Norway.
