Carishma

Carishma is a rare jewel in the entertainment industry, a classic triple threat. She has worked hard from a young age to perfect all three of her talents, dancing, acting and singing. Music however, runs deeper in Carishma as she comes from a musical background and it is in this talent that she is pursuing her career.
Carishma's mother and grandmother were both singers in their native land of India and experienced much success there. She knew that she was destined to achieve the same success in her own musical career along with bridging the gap between India and The United States. Growing up, Carishma was always surrounded by music of all types from bollywood to rock to pop, giving her a solid base of musical education. Carishma began singing, dancing and acting when she was in pre-school. Even at this young age, it was certain that Carishma was meant to shine among the rest. When Carishma was only 9 years old, she received a huge opportunity to be a lead role in an HBO movie entitled "Star of Jaipur", in which she played the daughter of the main character. She describes being comfortable in front of the camera at even that young of an age. She continued vocal lessons as well as all different types of dance lessons into her middle and high school years. In middle school she joined Garage Theater, a renowned acting school and played lead roles in many different plays. At 12, she began voice lessons with Judy Hages; it was Hages that suggested to Carishma after hearing her entrancing voice that she pursue music as a career. Carishma thought about it and by the age of 14 was in the studio recording.
As a sophomore in high school, Carishma was signed to an indie label AJM Records. She recorded about 20 songs under their label and by the time she was ready to graduate high school, she decided that she wanted to pursue an education and split with AJM. Carishma went on to the prestigious NYU to pursue an education in music business and performing arts. While in college she worked with many producers and continued to write and record music. Carishma's innovative and powerful sound caught the attention of producer and music artist Timbaland. Timbaland flew her down to Miami where she performed for him which led to recording a song with him at the famous Hit Factory. Timbaland was so blown away by her musical talent, he featured on the track himself. Carishma finally had her foot in the door to go full force into her musical career.
Since then, Carishma has been very busy recording and writing her first single "Glow in the Dark". The single is a dance/pop song about the sparks that fly between a boy and a girl. She has had the privilege to work with producers such as Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and JR Rotem as well as hit song writer Claude Kelly for this upcoming album. "Glow in the Dark" is already featured in a nationwide TV and radio ad campaign and receiving much buzz. The single was released on iTunes on September 19th. Carishma is currently back in the studio working on her album. She has a video journal on her own YouTube channel that chronicles her recording and writing process. Carishma is ready to take her place as the next generation's musical legacy. Her musical artistry is a force to be reckoned with and she shows no signs of slowing down.
