says front woman Emily about being in an up and coming band. But when a person is born for a purpose, whether you are looking for it or not, it finds you.
This is the case for new alternative rock band, Shine Bright Baby formed in late 2007. Hailing from the sleepy town of Orrville, Ohio, they have an impressive repertoire in a short⋯⋯ time. Within the first three months of practicing together Emily Irene (lead vocals) and Nathan Fertig (guitar/vocals) crafted together a 6 song demo (Brace Yourself EP - Sold out). Later, they were joined by their friends Hudson Taylor (bass/vocals), Josh Fink (guitar/vocals) and Karl Wendel (drums) and did not wasted any time to make music that explodes onstage with their energy and passion.
Now, the curtain is rising and the stage is set for these five unlikely individuals to answer to their calling. “The Heart and Its Hope” EP (released May 2009) includes the energetic single “We Were Made To,” a song that Yes FM reviewers call “a fresh sound for this period of time.” Scoring a slot at the renowned Christian music festival Alive in June of 2009, has given the band the publicity needed to take them to the next level. Touring the tri-state region rigorously has built them dedicated fan base both online and on the road. They have worked tirelessly to music with inspiring melodies paired with unstoppable grooves for a truly infectious sound. In two years time they've gone from garage band to being dubbed “Ohio’s New Kids of Rock”. An engaging and unforgettable stage performance backs up the reputation that precedes them.
Shine Bright Baby is poised to take the world by storm. Though they are young (ages 16-21) these five friends’ experience, work ethic and professionalism far outweighs their peers. After working with producer Jake Rye, Shine Bright Baby came forth with the much anticipated single “This Picture” released April 2010. With sales and industry attention rising, it will not be long until the depth and range of their talents are unveiled for eager ears worldwide.
