The Lows

The Lows is a post hardcore/rock band out of Connecticut, formed by ex and current members of hardcore bands, Palehorse, Crowns of Kings, Brothers in Arms, and The Distance. In hopes of starting something new and fresh. Musically reminiscent of rock, and post hardcore pioneers, Deftones, Glassjaw, Cave In, and Codeseven, they succeeded in doing something different from their previously mentioned bands. Throughout the first two years of the bands existence they wrote and recorded their debut full length "Departure" with Jay Maas at The Getaway Group (Defeater, Transit, Bane), self released it, and went on a few short tours. After touring the east coast and spreading their music and name, they began writing for their second record.
Their first effort, "Departure" was a loosely structured, ambient, indie rock album, and still a new style for the The Lows. The newer songs were shaping up to be darker, heavier, and more aggressive, with a tighter, more controlled structure. The vocals were a bit more polished and mature, and lyrics were even more honest and vulnerable than that of their first record. The Lows recorded their second release, "In Waves", with Greg Thomas at Silver Bullet Studios (Shai Hulud, Wrench in the Works, Hostage Calm) and released it as a free digital download. "In Waves" managed to draw in some new fans, and bring the current ones even closer. With a hard work ethic and drive, The Lows will be touring to support the release of "In Waves" and writing for future albums. Keep an eye and ear out for The Lows.
