Based out of Birmingham, Alabama, hard-hitting post-grunge/metal trio Within Reason formed in 2005 around the talents of Chris Dow, David Koonce, and Griffin Zarbough. Inspired by bands like Rage Against the Machine, Staind, and Linkin Park, the Southern rockers issued an independent debut EP, Cycle a Smile, in 2006, which led to a live appearance on the WB television drama One Tree Hill. During this time, the band toured extensively, playing alongside acts like Hinder, Black Stone Cherry, Seether, and Plain White T's. In 2008, the group headed into the studio with multi-platinum producer Rick Beato and began work on their debut long-player. The resulting Bloodshot Life was released the following year, with the Nick Chahwala-produced EP After the Crawl dropping in 2012. ~ James Christopher Monger
