Soul Demise

来自德国乐队，但是身上却没有德国乐队一向的死板和RAMMSTEIN的那种傻劲。曾经他们叫做INHUMAN，但是之后改名做SOUL DEMISE。他们的音乐是早期瑞典旋律死亡金属的东西，其实从唱片封面的设计就可以看出来。那时候的东西比起95年后以后的乐队有很多不同。尽管他们都是瑞典乐队，而且被人们统称Melodic Death Metal，但是却有很大不同。不似IN FLAMES那般有节奏感，也不似DARK TRANQUILLITY那样多忧郁的氛围段落。SOUL DEMISE最象的是AT THE GATES，充满了旋律的Riff连续不断，但是吉他的速度没有现代瑞典乐队那么快，而且音质没有后来的瑞典乐队那么精细，全部是晶体管的声音，浑厚而且微微将失真效果的颗粒模糊化。瑞典乐队似乎已经遗忘了先辈们的传统，他们玩的越来越快，越来越重，赢得了青少年的青睐，但是却遗忘了“Slaughter of the Soul”这样经典专辑，于是那么多的瑞典旋律死亡金属乐队，却没有一队可以玩到那种早期的感觉。SOUL DEMISE的唱片让我想起了熟悉的老派旋律死亡。主音歌手的嗓音是沙哑的低吼为主，而且并且配合死亡金属的深吼唱法，各个乐手的配合也是相当默契，一张非常不错的老式旋律死亡金属唱片。
When cranking up a brand new death metal album nowadays, it will most certainly either remind you of one of the old classics or steamroll you with an uncompromising wall of sound that has recently been labelled metalcore. Germany's Soul Demise sound different as they feel at home in both worlds.
Being formed in 1993, the five-piece has been an active part of the metal scene for over 15 years - but despite their long career under the banner of death none of the band members has lost the courage to experiment with various musical ingredients.
Without neglecting their passion for Gothenburg's finest At The Gates, Soul Demise have developed their own distinctive sound. On their latest effort "Acts Of Hate" the band presents a mature combination of striking melodies and raging riffs, refined with thrash- and heavy metal influences. While being arranged in a classic (death) metal vein, all ten tracks are equipped with a top-notch production that creates a vivid and contemporary flair. This unification of traditional and modern elements is for sure a balancing act, but the band masters this task with ease and - most importantly - delight.
Although Soul Demise deal with serious lyrical issues, fun still remains the band's passport to fame. Since its foundation in 1993 the group lived out unstable line-ups, financial disasters, even a renaming. But despite many difficulties they managed to release three full length albums, "Beyond Human Perception" (2000, Gutter Records), "In Vain" (2002, Season Of Mist) and "Blind" (2005, Remedy Records). These records have been also promoted live: Soul Demise hit the stage at Germany's Party.san and Up From The Ground open air and also hopped on various european tours, supporting such renowned extreme metal acts as Napalm Death, Immolation, Vader, Krisiun or Dismember.
Now the bands wants to play a lot of shows and work on new songs to record the next album in 2010
