Emerging from the dissolution of the Models, noisy post-punks Rema Rema were a short-lived quintet that consisted of Mick Allen (bass/vocals), Marco Pirroni (guitar), Mark Cox (keyboards), Gary Asquith (guitar/vocals), and Max (drums). They broke up a couple months before issuing their lone EP on 4AD in 1980, which was reissued on vinyl once in 1984. Since then, it's remained out of print. Wheel in the Roses featured one side of studio recordings and a flip of live material. 4AD label head Ivo Watts-Russell would later adopt one of the EP's tracks for the first This Mortal Coil record and transform it; Big Black also covered the group's "Rema Rema." Pirroni later found fame with Adam and the Ants. Max would delve into ballroom dancing, as well as sporadic drumming slots. Asquith, Allen, and Cox immediately formed the equally brief Mass, adding Danny Briottet. Cox and Allen's later involvements were with the Wolfgang Press, and Asquith with Renegade Soundwave.
