by Chris TrueThe working name of Finnish drum and bass artist and DJ Riku Pentti (who also went by the name Infekto) Rico Tubbs -- not to be confused with the Philip Michael Thomas character on Miami Vice, but surely a connection in spirit must have been there - was a force on the electronic, dance, and hip hop scenes in his native Finland from 1994 on. In addition to his formidable scratching skills, Tubbs was the co-founder of the breakbeat label Pyssy and one half of the hip hop duo Skillsters. One of Finland's first hip hop figures, Rico Tubbs was also a producer, working with some of the best that nation (and others) had to offer.
