Northern Kings并不是一支一般的乐队，乐队四位成员分别来自四支著名的芬兰金属乐队。乐队成员有Nightwish的Marco Hietala 、Sonata Arctica的Tony Kakko，Terasbetoni的Jarkko Ahola 以及Charon的J. Pekka Leppaluoto。
听Northern Kings的音乐，感觉是比较时髦的，乐团成员四人，对于第一张专辑《Reborn》他们还是比较重视的，最起码在音效方面和演唱方面他们有点大牌的感觉。

One of those oddities that could only come about in a culture soaked heavily in the sounds of heavy metal, Northern Kings were a symphonic power metal super group. While that may not be an oddity on its own, what made Northern Kings unique was that this was a symphonic power metal super group that did exclusively covers. And to make it even more peculiar, the band covered songs that were decidedly not metal -- Tina Turner's "We Don't Need Another Hero," "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" by Cutting Crew, and "Brothers In Arms" by Dire Straits, to name a few. Made up of four vocalists of some of the leading names in metal -- Tony Kakko of Sonata Arctica, Marco Hietala of Nightwish, Juha Pekka Leppäluoto of Charon, and Jarddo Ahola of Teräsbetoni -- Northern Kings released their first single, the cover of the Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome inspired Tina Turner track already mentioned, was a hit in Finland, and their debut album, Reborn, was released in October of 2007. The concept proved to be a success, as the debut full length managed a top ten placing in the Finnish charts.
