With his deep blue eyes, disarming smile and cool, calm demeanor, James Struthers may be a 22 year old heartthrob; but his allure goes far beyond the sightlines. He’s also an incredibly gifted songwriter and guitarist with a soulful voice and a young, aspiring business man with relentless, DIY work ethic. “Nothing worth doing in life comes easy, but it doesn’t feel like work to me,” says Struthers “…I feel very lucky that I’ve found what I love in life, and even more lucky that I wake up every morning and get to do it.” His achievements to date are quite impressive considering he’s still an independent artist. He’s toured the country 5 times, released 2 EPs, 4 music videos, and has cracked the Canadian AC charts with his festive single ‘Blue Christmas’ in under 2 years. Most recently, Not only was James awarded the distinction of ‘Bell’s Emerging Artist of the Month’ for April, 2012, and is currently receiving country wide airplay of his latest single ‘What Are We Waiting For,’ but he’s currently on the road blasting through a 50 date, coast to coast tour of Canada that he booked all by himself. And there are no signs of stopping anytime soon. He and WCMA award winning ‘Producer Of The Year’ Arun Chaturvedi are working on a full length album to be released in 2012. His team is growing, now consisting of Cara Heath (With A Bullet), who is handling radio promotions, and Lisa Saunders (Sound Strategy) who is handling publicity for the youngster. “He’s prolific.. Every time I get together with him in the studio, or have a phone call, he has new ideas in the works,” says his producer/manager Arun Chaturvedi. “He has everything you need to be successful in this industry…talent, creativity, a keen business sense and a relentless work ethic….and he’s the nicest guy you’ll ever meet!”
