by Rob TheakstonIndie pop quartet the Apparitions feature members which reside in both Lexington, Kentucky and Washington D.C., which leads the band to spend most of their time in either one city or the other. The brainchild of lead vocalist Mark Heidinger, the band also features Robbie Roberts (bass), Eric Smith (guitars), Justin Craig (guitars), and Robby Cosenza (drums). Blending tight harmonies, sunshine pop melodies and early-'90s indie pop, the group's debut album Oxygen Think Tank was released in 2003. After extensive and expansive touring, their next release, As This Is Futuristic, was released on the Machine imprint in January of 2006.
