Perfume Genius is the stage name for Seattle based solo artist Mike Hadreas. His MySpace page describes his genre as 'Roots Music' and is signed to the indie record label Matador/ Turnstile. Perfume Genius was officially founded in 2008.
His debut album, Learning, was released on June 21, 2010, and features piano along with soft singing. Hadreas' songs are about loneliness, regret, and sexual exploration. The first single released from the album is "Mr. Peterson."
